Goiás has become the latest Brazilian state to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emergent. The agreement with the State Secretariat for the Environment and Sustainable Development of Goiás (SEMAD), expresses the interest of both parties in cooperating to enable potential future transactions of high-integrity forest carbon credits from Goiás’s jurisdictional REDD+ programs, following independent validation, verification, and issuance through ART1.
