The Lowering Emissions by Accelerating Forest finance (LEAF) Coalition's goal is to halt deforestation by financing large scale tropical forest protection. In 2021, the Coalition mobilized $1bn in financing, kicking off the largest-ever public-private effort to protect tropical forests.
Last year, LEAF received successful proposals from 23 tropical forest jurisdictions. The current submission window is open until September 15th, 2022. Interested jurisdictions are invited to submit proposals expressing interest in becoming eligible suppliers of Emission Reductions (ERs) to the Coalition.
LEAF will be participating in the following events:
